Born Vitezslav Pavel[1] in the aftermath of World War II to Alois (11 April 1916 Rudice u Blanska – 28 Sep 1983 Brno)[2] and Jarmila. [3]

His sister Ivana Kocmanová is born.[4]

Competes in FIM Road Racing World Championship. Entries include the German Grand Prix at Solitude and East German Grand Prix at Sachsenring (pictured)[5]

Completes Abitur; works as a tour guide for German tourists in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.[6]
